We didn’t bet on an Android Nokia from Finnish manufacturer who are closely tied in with Microsoft. But the company's ideas on furthering their products and entering the Android open source platform has become a reality. Indeed, the MWC 2014 was the perfect excuse for them to break lose three new devices, the Nokia X, Nokia X+ and Nokia XL.
These two dual SIM smartphones may slightly differ, but both include rather low-end specifications. Did we finally see Nokia bring Android to their phones? Yes, but not like we expected and it seems that Nokia might be taking baby steps in incorporating our beloved OS or maybe they just have a very small appetite. What you get from Android is a modified version of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, Android apps, complemented by Microsoft's own services, however, all this without Google services.
Both Nokia and Nokia X + X have the same dimensions (115.5 x 10.4 x 63 mm ), and weigh 128.66 grams a piece. They both pack 4-inch IPS LCD displays with a WVGA resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Inside, you’ll find dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (1 GHz) processors with 512 MB RAM (the Nokia X + has 768 MB RAM).
The larger 5-inch device is quite close to its siblings on the technical level: same resolution, same IPS LCD screen technology, same processor and RAM as the Nokia X +, and the list goes on.
This smartphone includes a microSD slot to expand the 4GB of internal memory, and pacs a slightly improved battery of 2000 mAh. It also differs in that the rear camera triggers with 5MP with Autofocus and LED flash, while the front has 2MP.
