It’s update time, folks! Though the information disclosed on this piece of news is limited, the most important thing to know is that the Sprint Galaxy S4 will finally be receiving the latest firmware update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat as of today.

A leaked internal document shows us that today is the lucky day as well as the fact that the update would also incorporate support for Sprint’s MVNO Zact Mobile. To check if you are in line for the update, go to the settings of your Galaxy S4, then scroll down to About device. Tap on Software updates. You need to have the baseband version number L720VPUFNAE to be eligible for this first round of updates.

This is a good indication that an update to Android 4.4 is not too far away for other providers in the USA and other countries. We installed an unofficial version of Android 4.4.2 on our office Galaxy S4 and took note of the new features it brought.

Let us know if you have received it and if you notice any problems!
