It’s time: the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is now officially rolling out OTA to the Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE GT-I9505. The Snapdragon version of the smartphone is preceded in getting the software upgrade by the international Exynos version which started a few days ago.
The update will bring users minor UI changes like the new clear status bar and white icons. You’ll also notice (hopefully) a performance improvement, a new camera shortcut on the lock screen for quick access as well as see album art on full screen when music is playing. The keyboard has also been upgraded for use in landscape mode while gesture typing has been spruced up as well. Other additions are cloud printing, the option of choosing your default messenger, whether Hangouts or normal SMS/MMS app, just to name a few. Find out about the all the features brought by Android 4.4.2 which we installed on our own Galaxy S4.
Don’t expect to get the update right here and now though, it will gradually arrive to all clients in phases. If you have a carrier version of the device, you might have to wait a while until it is certified by the provider individually, which for some could take a while. To see if you get the update, go to the settings of your phone, then about phone, software update and finally update.
Check out the changes for yourself:
Did you get the update yet? Is it working fine or have you noticed anything strange going on?
