I. Preparation

Before rooting, you need to back up all the data to ensure that just in case if any data is lost you can easily restore the same. To backup view this post.
Disable all applications like Antivirus as well as Firewall .
Ensure that your phone has a minimum of 60% battery life.
You need to enable the USB Debugging in your phone, it can be enabled from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”.
Then you will have to download the Rooting Package for Samsung Galaxy R I9103

II. Rooting

Extract downloaded file above.
Open the Odin from the extracted files and turn Off the phone to enter into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.
Connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable. Once you connect the same, the ID : COM section in the Odin will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully updated and you are now ready to select the files in the Odin.

In the Odin you need to click on the “PDA” tab and select the file named as “GalaxyR_i9103_RootingTAR_AAD” which will be there in the extracted files folder.

Tick on "Auto reboot" and "F.Reset Time". Then click on the “Start” tab to start the process of rooting. Within a minute the Galaxy R phone will be rebooting which will signify that the rooting process is done successfully.

After this you will have to turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume UP Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button as shown in the below video. In the recovery mode, select "Wipe data/factory reset" and also you need to select "Wipe Cache partition" and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option

After rooting you will to see the two additional applications which are “Super user” and “CWM” which will mean that the rooting is successful. Just in case if you are unable to see these both then you again need to apply this whole process again so as to root the device.
