Sidebar launchers are all the rage these days, and it’s not hard to see why. They offer the convenience of having all of your favorite apps at your fingertips. XDA Forum Member Jawomo recently released SideCuts, a gesture launcher that puts a new spin on sidebar launcher-style functionality. As seen in various other implementations, SideCuts allows users to easily launch apps, shortcuts, contacts, bookmarks and more from anywhere on their Android devices. But rather than simply working like a side bar, the application allows users to define up to 8 gestures that can be initiated from any one of the three custom-defined touch areas. In addition, the app allows you to create up to four favorite lists for app categorization, and it lets users select between sidebar- and grid-style views.

While there are already more than a few sidebar launchers available, SideCuts offers novel functionality that sets it apart from the sea of other options. Is it the best option for you?
