The HTC One M8 is only about a week away from being officially announced by HTC and this means that the price of the older HTC One is dropping.

HTC America revealed that an unlocked HTC One is now $499 in US stores. On Amazon it’s actually about $5 cheaper right now. Carriers have probably got better deals and discounts on the phone right now which probably means you can get it for about $0.01 on a two year deal.

If these prices seem a little bit too steep for you, you may want to wait until the device actually drops and then see whether you want to get the new HTC One which is rumoured to be coming out at $650.

The HTC One 2 is said to have features like BoomSound, Blinkfeed, and the HTC One duo camera. The duo camera feature helps users autofocus pictures after they have been taken. This means that you will have less of those annoying blurry pictures and it is somewhat similar to the Lytro camera.

The new HTC One will come out running Android 4.4.2 but even if you go with an older HTC device, you will probably still be able to get KitKat on your device since HTC has been rolling out the update to older devices. It is also possible that the new HTC device may come out with a fingerprint scanner much like the one that came with the HTC One Max.

Do you think getting a new HTC One device right now for $499 is good value for money? Please leave your comments below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
