GalaxyS5

In less than a month from now, Samsung would unveil the successor to the Note 3 and a new flagship phablet device – the Galaxy Note 4. While a lot of information about the device has already leaked online, some mystery surrounding it still remains including its final design. Below, we list down all the rumors of the Note 4 that we have heard about so far, and categorized depending on whether they have been confirmed or not.

Confirmed

Display: Various rumors have reportedly stated that the Galaxy Note 4 will come with a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 X 1440) Super-AMOLED display. With Samsung already releasing a QHD variant of the Galaxy S5, there really should not be any doubt that the Note 4 will come with anything else but a QHD resolution display.

Processor: Various leaks have pretty much confirmed that the Note 4 will come with an Exynos 5433 processor, which will make use of ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture, and comprise of four high-performance A15 cores and four low-power A7 cores. There will also be another variant of the phablet with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 chip inside it.

Storage and RAM: It is more than likely that the Note 4 will come with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, along with a microSD card, just like the Note 3.

Fingerprint sensor and Heart-Rate monitor: The Galaxy S5 already comes with a fingerprint sensor and a heart-rate monitor, so the chances of them not being included on the Note 4 are almost nil.

Ambiguous

Camera: All the rumors of the Note 4 point towards the phablet coming with a 16MP camera with OIS. While a 16MP camera is plausible enough, the presence of OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) sounds dubious. Rumors of the Galaxy Note 3 and even the Galaxy S5 indicated that the device would come with OIS, but things turned out different.

It is more than likely that we will see Samsung use the same camera ISO-CELL sensor as seen on the Galaxy S5 on the Note 4 or maybe Sony’s latest Exmor R sensor.

Ultraviolet Sensor: Leaked screenshots of the S-Health app have indicated that the Galaxy Note 4 will come with an Ultraviolet sensor, but nothing concrete has leaked on this front to confirm its existence.

Retina Scanner: On more than one occasion, we have heard rumors about Samsung including a retina scanner on its device. Up until now though, these rumors have always turned out to be false and chances of the Note 4 featuring a retina scanner are pretty much nil as well.

Intel’s LTE modem: Rumors have indicated that Samsung would be releasing the Exynos variant of the Note 4 in all the major markets this year, instead of a Qualcomm variant, and the LTE modem will be supplied by Intel.

Unknown

Design: Absolutely nothing is known about the Note 4's design. History indicates that Samsung will be using the same design as the Galaxy S5 with a few minor tweaks, and probably a leather back. It is not yet clear if the Note 4 would be retaining the water and dust resistance capabilities of its smaller sibling — the Galaxy S5 – or sacrifice it for reduced bezel space.

Battery: The Galaxy Note series from Samsung have always been known for their astounding battery life. However, this time around, not much is known about the battery capacity of the Note 4.

What do you think about the Note 4 based on all these rumors? Would you be buying one or go with the LG G3?
