European HTC One Receives KitKat Once Again

Back at the tail end of January, we talked about how the international HTC One received its official update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Not too long after, the update was put on hold due to issues that some users were facing after having upgraded. Now, KitKat is back and currently rolling out to international devices once again.

The update, which is now currently rolling out for the international variant of the device (M7_U / PN0711000), comes in the form of ROM version 4.19.401.5. And just like the previous update that was pulled, this bumps up the device to Android 4.4.2 KitKat. News of this update comes courtesy of XDA Recognized Developer LlabTooFer‘s Twitter.

Just as before, the update is being delivered in the form of a staged OTA rollout. As such, not everyone will receive the update immediately. However, XDA Senior Member mikeyd85 was kind enough to mirror the update for everyone to enjoy. It is worth noting, however, that mikeyd85's device has Super CID, so your mileage may vary.

It’s good to see that despite the previous issues, official KitKat has returned to the international HTC One. You can either wait for the OTA or you can download the update manually over at mikeyd85's post if you dare. And once you’ve given it a shot, head over to the International HTC One Update Discussion thread and the comments below to share your thoughts about the new update.

[Many thanks once again to XDA Portal Supporter Titokhan for the tip!]
